How do I love thee Guru? Let me count the ways

Seems like I get my inspiration from either movie titles, writers or poets, Elizabeth Barrett Browning in this case……anyways, its not my wedding anniversary or the day we met or our engagement or Guru’s b’day or anything remotely to do with any major event in our life. Taking a cue from my previous post, 17 Again, I strongly believe that you don’t need a particular day to express your love and how happy you are to have them in your life. You go on through the daily events when suddenly you realize life wouldn’t be something you look forward to without this one person and how bleak and dull your life seems without that one person. Here goes…….

1. I love the way that I find it so easy to tell what you are thinking and feeling.

2. I love the way your face breaks into a smile when you are happy.

3. When you face situations where you know you are going to get hurt/burned, I love the way you find the courage to try again and again.

4. I really loved it when you said ‘I love you’ to me for the first time.

5. I particularly love the way you feel in my arms.

6. I love the way  you laugh and I love the way you have to make me laugh.

7. I love the way you never give up even when you are up against the wall.

8. I love the way you are with Vidyuth & Vishruth.

9.I love the way you reach out to help/assist people in any way you can, without expecting absolutely anything in return.

10. I love that you have finally understood that you just need to listen to me when I am on a rant (hehe) and not put on your Mr.I-Can-Fix-It-All hat and I love how you do that despite it being so difficult for you.

11. I love your crazy logic.

12. I love your sincerity and compassion.

12. As much as I am unable to comprehend why, I love that you love me ……… and finally ‘cos I seem to have run out of  perfect words, I take the help of the poet herself…..

To quote Elizabeth Barrett Browning,
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, — I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! — and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
